I created a title sequence for a larger unreleased animation I am working on. I have been working on an animation featuring two characters and their relationship. I wanted to create a sort of title sequence animation to tease the bigger animation.
For this project I was responsible for the concept, asteroid creation, a few props, lighting/rendering, and posing of the characters.
Programs Used: Cinema4D, Blender, Marvelous Designer, After Effects, Premiere Pro
The idea and concept were created by me and I used assets I bought to put together the idea. I created the asteroids and the window myself. I was going for a dark and moody tone, along with a grim foreshadowing by destroying the violin.
I used after effects to create the ships plasma exhaust pictured above.
Characters
For the couples picture, one character was rigged in Blender myself, the other bought pre-rigged and both posed in Blender, rendered in Cycles so I could start learning to use Blenders node system. Funny enough, for such a simple thing this took the most work. I also had to bring the character on the left into marvelous designer and create a top for her. That was a new workflow for me so it took time to learn. I created a very simple clothing pattern for her and used MD simulation engine to place the clothes on the her in her pose. Brought the finished render into photoshop and added scratches and imperfections, then off to Cinema4D to be placed in a frame.
The Violin
Voronoi fracture was used to simulate the breakage of the Violin. I used matrix's to describe where I wanted the fracture points on the voronoi for greater control. I however had many difficulties increasing the amount of fractures in the simulation, so consequently the violin doesn't break like wood like it should. I wish I knew why the program was fighting me so hard on this. Anyway, I then used premiere for the credit text and the final composition!
